My name is Kimberly Mason. I live between Seattle and Portland on an old farmstead with my best friends Buddy the WonderDog and JesseDog.
The variety of wildlife that live on these 135 acres of woodland, beaver ponds, streams, natural springs, old orchard and open fields is amazing. There are elk, deer, coyote, beaver, raccoon, rabbit, bear, cougar, moles, voles and, of course, beautiful birds. Most of the photographs in this blog have been taken right here at the farm in my backyard.
I have four grown children and two grandchildren, all of them live within 30 miles of the farm. A beautiful view of Mt. St. Helens and the best neighbors anyone could have (Mom and Dad live up on the hill in Thistlehill House) and all the rest, makes me one of the luckiest gals in Lewis County.
I am the weekend reporter, a freelance writer and photographer and columnist for The Chronicle, a daily newspaper serving greater Lewis County.
